Every year again the Christmas Markets of South Tyrol attracts lots of visitors from all over the world.
All of them have their peculiarities, from the largest Christmas Market throughout Italy in Bolzano, to the impressive Christmas Market in Merano, the romantic market of Brunico and the charming Bressanone Christmas Market.

Bolzano Christmas Market
For more than two decades now, the largest Christmas Market of Italy attracts visitors from all over the world at Christmas time. Staged in Piazza Walter opposite the dome you can stroll between the market booths, where local delicacies, hand-made crib figurines, lamb wool products and many other possible presents are offered for sale. For kids there is a carousel and the possibility to do pony rides in the city.

Bressanone Christmas Market
The former episcopal city of Bressanone is an ideal setting for a Christmas Market, which is staged in front of the dome of Bressanone. A colorful world of artisan products, handmade Christmas cribs, candles, glass and clay items as well as South Tyrolean specialities, the range of offers is widespread. Often there are also concerts of local folklore groups, making you indulge in the sound of Christmas.

Brunico Christmas Market
The city at the Rienza river is particularly charming at Christmas time. Often covered by lots of snow, the Brunico Christmas Market makes you feel like you're in a fairytale. A little ice-skating ground, pony rides, typical products of the Val Pusteria such as the potatoes, prepared in a particular manner and a Christmas train makes not only children's eyes shine bright. The Christmas Market of Brunico is really a special place to be.

Merano Christmas Markets
Being an attraction all over the year, Merano also attracts lots of visitors in winter, especially thanks to its charming and famous Christmas Market along the promenade in front of the Kurhaus, symbol of the city constructed in liberty style. More than 80 market stalls provide handmade products, typical delicacies to taste, sheep wool products, artisan work, candles and Christmas decorations. Of course there is also a fringe programme including pony rides and workshops for kids.

Vipiteno Christmas Market
At the foot of the Torre delle Dodici tower, symbol of the city, every Christmas time again there is the Vipiteno Christmas Market. The main square in front of the towers is, like the Via Città Nuova, venue for the Christmas Market, offering lots of handmade items that are ideal Christmas presents.
Other Christmas markets that are absolutely worth a visit are the San Candido and Chiusa Markets, the Castelrotto Christmas Market, the Alpine Christmas Market at Lago di Braies and the Val Gardena Christmas Market.
